2. What Data We Process
SongMap does not require user registration, login, or form submissions. We do not collect direct personal identifiers such as names or email addresses.
Technical Data (Server Logs):
When accessing the website, our web server automatically records standard technical access logs:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Requested URL / page / map tile
- Browser type and HTTP Referrer
Purpose & Legal Basis: This data is processed based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) strictly to ensure server security, infrastructure stability, and defense against malicious activity (e.g., DDoS attacks). Logs are processed entirely on our own server, are not shared with third parties, and are automatically deleted after a short retention period.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
SongMap does not use any third-party tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. We only use strictly necessary technical storage (such as browser LocalStorage) required for proper website interface functionality (e.g., saving map position and display preferences).
4. Map Data and Third-Party Services
- Map Tiles: Map tiles and vector data are hosted directly on the operator’s self-hosted infrastructure. Displaying the map sends no browser requests to third-party tile servers. Map data is based on the OpenStreetMap project.
- Event Data: Information about music events is fetched via public APIs (e.g., Ticketmaster and others).
- Third-Party Links: The website may contain links (including affiliate links) to external services (e.g., ticket vendors, accommodation). Clicking these links redirects you to third-party platforms governed by their own privacy policies.
5. Your Rights Under GDPR
Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to, rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing of your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing.
Because we do not maintain user accounts or an identity database, we cannot associate a specific IP address in server logs with an individual unless you provide your IP address and the exact timestamp of your visit.
